What You'll Do
The Assistant Manager, Learning & Development drives the design, development and delivery of training programmes across Mind Stretcher, with a focus on equipping new hires for success and building the capabilities of our people. This role owns the induction and onboarding training journeys for new hires across the Mind Stretcher Group of Companies, while also developing training materials and courses for employees across all departments.
Working closely with Centre Managers, Heads of Department and academic leadership, the Assistant Manager will curate targeted training plans, sourcing internal or external trainers as needed to close skill gaps and support the continued growth of our teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Assistant Manager, Learning & Development reports directly to the HR Director, and leads and manages the Learning & Development team, including any interns attached to the team.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, manage and develop the Learning & Development team, including any interns attached to the team, providing guidance, coaching and support to build a high-performing unit.
- Set individual and team goals aligned with organisational training priorities, and review team performance regularly.
Training Material & Course Development (Organisation-Wide)
- Develop training materials, course curricula and learning resources for internal employees across all departments, academic and non-academic.
- Conduct training needs analysis (TNA) in consultation with department heads to identify skill and capability gaps.
- Continuously review and update training content to ensure relevance, quality and alignment with organisational goals.
Lesson Observations & Classroom Management
- Sit in on lesson observations, whenever necessary, to assess classroom management and teaching delivery, providing constructive feedback to teaching staff.
- Identify coaching opportunities and recommend follow-up training interventions based on observation outcomes.
